About

Skeptic Pinoy blog is an intersection of popular news and issue with critical thinking.  It attempts to foster inquiry and discussion about topics that are susceptible to “misinformation”.

“absence of evidence is not evidence of absence” – Carl Sagan

The blog title speaks for itself and is an amalgamation of two words:

Pinoy – Pinoy is an informal demonym referring to the Filipino people in the Philippines as well as overseas Filipinos around the world.

Skepticism – Contemporary skepticism (or scepticism) is loosely used to denote any questioning attitude,[1] or some degree of doubt regarding claims that are elsewhere taken for granted.[2] Usually meaning those who follow the evidence, versus those who are skeptical of the evidence (see:Denier)
